The higher the number, the more sensitive the camera is to light.
UNDER EXPOSURE.
In this image, the image is too dark and the features of the image are difficult to see.
EXPOSURE (SHUTTER SPEED)
FAST SHUTTER SPEED
This is an example of fast shutter speed as the camera has captures a firework in motion. This shutter speed would have been about 1200/1 seconds.
SLOW SHUTTER SPEED
This is an example of a slow shutter speed. The shutter could have been open for minutes, even hours, to create this image.
APERTURE
SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD
This is an example of a shallow depth if field, where the foreground is in focus but the background is out of focus. The F stop would be about f.2.8 and this type of photography is usually used in portraiture.
The higher the number, the smaller the aperture.
GREAT/DEEP DEPTH OF FIELD
This is an example of a great depth of field as all of the image is in focus. the F stop would be around f.8 and this type of photography is used in landscape photography.
